  1. The beautiful cradle of civilization in the Mediterranean has been violated, a sign that there is no more civilization.

by Elisabeth Mantovani on Monday, 17 June 2013 at 11:40

Today I would like to publicly express my closeness to all my friends in Greece and their families. I have no words to express the deep sadness for what is happening in this beautiful country, the cradle of all civilizations of the Mediterranean.
This is a profound sign of decadence of our times and a clear warning that right now things are reversed: those in power do not deserve to be there! The vices, corruption, greed and avarice are ruling the Mediterranean countries, countries that hold the genes of brilliant minds of artists and philanthropists, it is time that these minds wake up and to come back to power themselves.
This morning I got the news from a dear friend who lives in Athens that important archaeological sites are being transferred to multinational companies and in the place of one of these, the the Sacred Road to Eleysis , will be built a playground park.
When human society comes at these levels the only progress possible is to go back.
I wish to remind Greece and the Mare Nostrum forever, like this: a column that is left standing in the Memory of the Times.

More people found Vlogbrothers through teachers or librarians than through Twitter.

      1. Good Father’s Day interview with the Scotsman about NOS4R2/NOS4A2. Would only note, before people get weird, that there’s a slip in the last paragraph suggesting, ahhh, that I’m writing a comic book sequel to IT. Mmmmnope. I think he means I’m writing a comic book spinoff to NOS4A2: WRAITH, due later this year from IDW.

        1. I really hate costume groups on facebook.

I spent about an entire day trying to access the Bunka database, two more days taking screenshots, translating things, and queuing the posts up. I log onto facebook and find that once again a Costume group casually swept through my blog and took my posts wth no credit to me or the Museum.

I know that I don’t own the images but I do take hours to reseach the ideas and themes and put together original items that I think my followers will enjoy. It’s so frustrating to see facebook groups come in and just take everything with no credit to the source.
